The Permanent Representation of Bulgaria to the Uited Nations Office in Geneva in cooperation with the Institute for International and Development Studies and the Diplomatic Club of Geneva organized a public debate on "Two-Speed ​​Europe: New East-West Division". The President (2012-2017) Rosen Plevneliev delivered a keynote address.

The President (2012-2017) Rosen Plevneliev participated in the conference by the Vienna Economic Forum "Sofia Talks 2018" which was held under the motto "Politics meets the economy" in the National Palace of Culture. The event was attended by regional leaders from the Western Balkans, together with representatives of the regional, European and international economy.

The President (2012-2017) Rosen Plevneliev participated in the conference "Strategic Dialogue for the Western Balkans" organized by the World Economic Forum in the framework of the EU-Western Balkans Summit. The meeting was opened by Prime Minister Boyko Borissov and High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Federica Mogerini.

The President (2012-2017) Rosen Plevneliev participated in the conference "In dialogue with the Western Balkans: Creating a region of growth, security and connectivity on the road to Europe". The event was organized by the European Council on Foreign Relations, the Wilfried Martens Center for European Studies and the European Movement International and was held under the patronage of the Bulgarian Presidency of the Council of the European Union.

President Plevneliev (2012-2017) was elected a member of the prestigious newly established international group "Friends of Macedonia" or "Ohrid Group". He was on a visit to Macedonia, where the Ohrid Group had a meeting with Prime Minister Zoran Zaev and members of the government and a joint press conference was held. Chairman of the Group is Sir George Robertson, former Secretary General of NATO.

President Rosen Plevneliev participated in the thirteenth high-level meeting of the International Center for Tolerance and Dialogue "Nizami Gandjavi". The forum, dedicated to the humanitarian challenges and the Euro-Mediterranean Partnership, was held in Athens on 22-23 November in collaboration with the Mariana Vardinoyanis Foundation.

President Rosen Plevneliev and Chairman of Solutions for the Future Foundation participated in the opening of the first digital (un)conference in Bulgaria (The Digital Unconference 1.0).

The event, attended by more than 1000 participants, was held in Sofia Tech Park and was organized with the partnership of Solutions for the Future Foundation. 

President Rossen Plevneliev opened the twenty-seventh academic year of the American University in Bulgaria in front of hundreds of students, professors, employees and friends of AUBG. The former Bulgarian head of state has taken an important mission - to be a special envoy of the university. Promoting Bulgaria as a world-class education destination and attracting excellent students and highly qualified teachers in Bulgaria will be among his goals.
